NAY Central Warehouse Tour: AutoStore – Internet Ordering Department
Element Logic implemented an automated warehouse solution for electronics retailer Nay. It used the proven AutoStore system, the deployment of which brought the Nay Group up to four times savings in warehouse space and also increased the speed of order picking and store replenishment.
The technology for automating Nay’s central warehouse in Slovakia was provided by the Czech branch of Norwegian Element Logic, a supplier of AutoStore automated warehouse solutions.
The 30,000 m² warehouse is located in Prologis Park in Senec, near Bratislava, and supplies Nay’s customers and stores in Slovakia and Electro World stores in the Czech Republic. The automated small parts warehouse solution is complemented by robotic picking.
In the initial phase, Nay has so far decided to invest millions of euros in the automated sub-unit solution project. The AutoStore initially has 20,000 bins (storage bins) on an area of 600 m², which can store up to over 30,000 SKUs (stock keeping units).
With the help of 26 robots and 4 universal carousel ports, work efficiency is increased up to threefold.
