Ivana Budinská is Head of the Department of Modelling and Simulation of Discrete Processes at the Institute of Computer Science, Slovak Academy of Sciences, v.v.i. Her research work focuses on modelling and simulation of discrete systems, multi-agent systems, artificial intelligence methods and complex systems. He is currently working on the application of nature-inspired methods in various areas, e.g. manufacturing, optimization of production lines, supply chain management, control and coordination of a group of mobile agents – autonomous mobile robots. Within these areas, he works on problems related to swarm intelligence – swarm and swarm robotics. She has authored scientific publications and has worked on several national and international projects, in some cases as the principal investigator. She is a supervisor and consultant for PhD students in computer science and cybernetics.
