Transport under pressure: consolidation versus the future of the sector

Transport under pressure: consolidation versus the future of the sector

The government’s consolidation package does not provide any impetus to support growth and modernization in the transport sector. Key measures are missing – from investments in infrastructure, digitization of processes, and fairer redistribution of toll revenues to systematic support for the greening of the vehicle fleet. The panel will take a comprehensive look at the situation – in addition to road transport, it will also address the topic of rail and combined transport as key pillars of sustainable and functionally interconnected logistics. The discussion will also focus on the need for predictable and stable financing of the entire transport infrastructure, which would enable long-term development, greater efficiency, and resilience of the sector. How should toll revenues be fairly redistributed to support the modernization of all modes of transport? Which infrastructure investments are most urgent? What role can digitization play in connecting transport systems and streamlining processes? And how can we realistically support the greening of the transport fleet for smaller companies as well?

The panel discussion will be moderated by Vladimír Maťo, editor-in-chief of the magazine Systémy Logistiky.
