Patrik Benka is a graduate of the University of Žilina (Faculty of Transportation Economics and Communications, Department of Railway Transport). After graduating from high school in 1989, he worked as a dispatcher at Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) and later at the Slovak Railways (ŽSR). Since 2010, he has been working in the Transport Department of the General Directorate of ŽSR as a transportation technologist. In 2020, he became the Executive Director of the Association of Railway Carriers of Slovakia. A lifelong railwayman, he advocates for rail transport not only for its ecological significance but also as an undeniably sustainable mode of transportation with a future-oriented perspective. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Industrial Associations and Transport Association. He is involved in transport policy issues, including their impact on the social and economic life of the country.
