Martin Urban studied automation at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak Technical University. After graduating, he joined the Swiss company Landis & Gyr (later Siemens Building Technologies), where he started as a sales representative. He eventually moved to the position of manager and obtained a prestigious MBA degree from the American University of Pittsburgh, when he received an offer from the German company Jungheinrich to lead its Slovak branch in 2003. Jungheinrich supplies comprehensive products, solutions and services for in-house logistics and has grown from 18 employees to the current 135, with sales of more than € 40 million. He owes his success to his philosophy of doing everything properly, but also to the strong will and competition he gained while playing tennis.
