Excursion to the LUNYS warehouse
Lunys, one of the leaders in fresh food distribution, has taken a bold step towards intelligent automation. In collaboration with M2M Solutions, it has implemented a fully automated warehouse system that manages the daily flow of goods with the precision and harmony of a true symphony of movement. Covering an area of 2,500 m2, the warehouse layout was optimized based on the shipping plan, creating more than 30,000 positions. This fundamental step significantly increased the efficiency of logistics operations and enabled seamless connectivity and smooth flow of goods throughout the entire logistics chain. More than 90 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) of all types are deployed in the warehouse environment. This automated warehouse significantly saves operators’ time, reduces errors, and increases warehouse throughput. Thanks to integration with the WMS system, each order is precisely controlled, monitored, and optimized in real time. The system can also respond flexibly to seasonal fluctuations in demand. In the near future, M2M Solutions plans to integrate a transport logistics system (TLS) with robotic technologies at the Lunys warehouse, launch the FMR project (introduction of standardized warehouse solutions for greater efficiency and flexibility), robotic picking with CTU (deployment of a robotic order picking system (CTU – Carton Transfer Unit), which eliminates the need for manual picking by employees), and the implementation of a collaborative robot to work with humans on complex or repetitive tasks.
