Martin Urban, managing director of Jungheinrich, studied automation at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak Technical University. After graduation, he joined the Swiss company Landis & Gyr (later Siemens Building Technologies), where he started as a sales representative. Over time, he was promoted to a managerial position and earned a prestigious MBA degree from the American University of Pittsburgh, when he received an offer from the German company Jungheinrich to lead its Slovak branch. Since then, 16 years have passed, the company supplying complex products, solutions and services for in-house logistics has grown from the original 18 employees to the current 135, with sales reaching more than € 40 million. He currently manages the Romanian branch of Jungheinrich in addition to the Slovak branch. He owes his philosophy to doing everything properly, but also to the strong will and competition he gained while playing tennis.
