Panel discussion: Let’s shine a light on costs
Until the pandemic, it was true that costs could be reduced in many areas. Today, this task seems to be in the “mission impossible” category. From 2021, the prices of energy and material inputs, transport, wages and expenses necessary for repairs or strategic investments have been increasing dramatically. The amount of money in the economy has started an inflationary spiral, which further encourages price growth, or costs, including in trades, products and services where it would no longer be necessary. What can be done in this situation? It will probably not be possible to “cut” costs, but it is possible to take “mitigation measures”, i.e., to reduce their rapid increase.
