Emil Frey Logistics optimizes processes with a smart-watch solution
Emil Frey Slovakia is part of the Swiss group Emil Frey based in Zurich. The company is the exclusive importer of multiple car brands and transports spare parts for partners in Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Bosnia. It offers special concepts and solutions for the logistics, customs clearance or transport and warehousing of spare parts. After implementing internally proven processes in its newly built warehouse, the management of the company sought to meet the Industrial Revolution 4.0 with further optimization and digitalization of its facilities.
The decision was made to use smart watches, which offer a complex data-gathering solution that was not previously possible. The provided technology and subsequent data analysis has helped the company to unify and optimize selected processes within the company. Successful implementation further led to a discussion about expanding the use of smart watches to other departments in the company – manufacturing, logistics and warehousing. The presented case study will examine the particular steps in the implementation of the technology, data collection, digitization of the environment and the overall result of process optimization.
